We liked the veal liver with sage.
Food is great but also a bit more expensive.
With some effort I am giving two stars today. If a special dish - here “Tagliatelle Sean Connery” - pasta with lobster cream sauce, scampi, crayfish and green asparagus for € 19 - is advertised, the dish should be absolutely right. The tagliatelle were covered with an indefinable and tasteless soup that had absolutely nothing to do with a sauce and also didn't taste like lobster. The scampi, just like the crayfish, tasted like nothing, you had to look for the green asparagus. The avocado carpaccio wasn't particularly tasty either. (€ 15), as a little lemon and salt were missing and I couldn't taste any spices. The avocado slices were placed so thinly on the plate that you could unfortunately only scrape them off with a fork, and the scanty crayfish didn't taste good either. It's a shame that I cannot recommend this beautiful location in the heart of Eltville. I've been disappointed before and won't go again.
Very nice location, very good service and my food was great.
Very tasty!
The food was delicious, table reservations were necessary from Friday to Sunday
Too expensive. Too bad. Too unfriendly.
Italian hospitality is different A bad-tempered and arrogant patron named Gino, who greets and serves regular guests exuberantly and treats the rest of the welcome and service to the farewell with contempt and boredom. A friend and I had ordered a zucchini and salmon risotto on the beautiful, covered terrace on this mild summer evening, which was rather mediocre in terms of quality, but not worth the price at 19 euros. The previously consumed antipasto misto was nicely presented and tasted, but at 17 euros it was also too expensive. On the other hand, the Sauvignon Blanc and the Rheingau Pinot Blanc de Noir were definitely good food companions. When I said “Pay please”, the waitress came up with an “interim bill” after apparently realizing that I was paying cash. You just try it…. Upon request, I received a proper invoice, because only this allows the owner to comply with the proper accounting obligations according to the Cash Act, which has been in force since 1.1.20, with a receipt obligation to the tax office. Rogue who thinks bad ... Actually a very nice location that I wanted to give a second chance after having had the same experience on my first visit. But that was it, because a third time I don't want to have to do something like that to myself ...
I just love it ... the atmosphere, the food ... Somehow reminds me of home ... The boss and all the staff are super friendly, the kitchen is just outstanding. Always my pleasure.
We went to the Osteria for the first time today at noon, so far we've just passed by with great interest. Although we hadn't made a reservation, we were seated very friendly at a table for two on the beautiful terrace or winter garden. It wasn't difficult, we were the first lunch guests. Despite the coronavirus rules, the staff was overall very attentive and friendly. We were served without a long wait. The starter was spicy and pleasantly surprised us. The sea bass for two was huge and was shown to us briefly again before filleting. The meat remained juicy and aromatic even after grilling, which was very good! The price was clearly “high”, but so was the overall level. So everything went well and we had a very good summer Sunday dinner in a very pleasant environment.
Nice that it is still there after so many years.
Nice honest and attentive staff and still good food, that was a nice and successful evening. Continue so.Lg Kf
This is just a little Italy. !!!!!! Service as nice as this is rare. Here you can enjoy delicious food in a great Italian atmosphere. Gladly again.
Excellent Italian! I really enjoyed it there. The food was really delicious, it was immediately noticeable that they did not offer pizza but really put the focus on the typical national food with lots of vegetables, fish and a little meat and of course pasta! The pasta was exactly al dente, everything was very, very tasty. But what I found so sympathetic was that everyone was totally on the ball, spread a good mood, were funny. The chef is a wine connoisseur and server through and through and everyone really enjoys their culture! So far really the most authentic Italian, with whom I have been in Dtl. was. Keep it up!!!
It was so delicious 🙂 Everything freshly prepared and especially nice service. So I have a 1+
Fried fish (he died twice) - price, performance poor. Even with the pasta, the salmon was more than dead
Good service, nice and cozy location. Food was a mix of Italian and French and whatever. So not really authentic. Portions were small and not inexpensive. The topic that really annoyed me was the taste... It was not Italian at all.
There are meat, fish, salads, pasta and desserts in different variations. The food is always delicious, the service you can luck or bad luck. Tables should be reserved in advance. There is a small parking lot nearby, but you may have to park further away.
Very good there, a bit upscale atmosphere and friendly service.
Amazing cheff
Delicious food especially has a super citrus balsamic oil
Cool
Great food, but last time the waiter asked us outright for a tip. Well not sure if he's gone or not but have not seen him, and it's not happened since. And the food is absolutely delightful and the staff are still awesome.
T That is a very special Italian restaurant. Food every time is very good, the place looks like simple, but people who come , normally are elegant and beautiful. You have to try
Great location friendly staff good food selection 😃
Tried the lasagna, friendly staff and fair pricing.
Great food.
Good food. The waiters were surprised when a 19 year old (me) entered the restaurant... "What are you looking for?" A table for one person. They were shocked. Was I to young or what? They'd like to have a posh atmosphere there...
Very nice restaurant. Delicious cuisine - very friendly and courteous service. Highly recommended zu
Very good food and courteous service.
Nice place with Italian cuisine, helpful staff.
The service was TERRIBLE!!! No nice greeting, no smile, and everyone looks like they hate their life. They would take things of our table without asking if they could or make any sort of eye contact with you. Never asked if we wanted another drink, bread, nothing at alllll.. I had to go to them anytime we needed something which just made it seem like I was annoying them even more. I can't even remember our waitress speaking to us besides to ask what we wanted. It wasn't a pleasant experience. The only reason why I'm giving them two stars at all is because of the food. It was good. No matter how good the food is, I will never go back there again though.
After years of going here I was surprised to hear from friends, that the service had changed considerably and that, at the end of the meal, their waiter had asked outright for a tip. I had dismissed this as a one off incident, until we dined there recently and on paying our bill, the waiter asked directly for a tip as well. Food is always excellent, but I feel the decision to tip or not is at the customers discretion and not an almost demand from the waiter. It saddens me ,but I think it will be some time before we return there, as this has certainly marred our dining experience, and I would hesitate to recommend to anyone else .
To our very pleasant surprise, we stumbled in after a evening walk along the river and rose gardens. Lovely little town with beautiful German character and the best little italian hideaway in the center to relax. Loved loved loved the trufflecreme pasta. Local spot, which is why it is so great, but waiters spoke English enough for us to order and dine easily.
Okay, every meal is simply amazing. Location and ambiance is perfect. Service with a smile. Cozy interior and excellent menu selection. Try the Sean Connery plate!
